How To Use A Speech Script Through Drama

Strand: Performance

Students will:


Performance: Speeches that changes the world e.g Patrick Henry, Abraham Lincoln, Napoleon Bonaparte, Martin Luther Jr., Nelson Mandela, Lyndon Johnson and Susan B. Anthony


Sample questions

Can you make your voice loud and clear?
Can you speak confidently?
Did you finish your script?
Can you imitate this person?
Can you read very well?
Can you perform with expression?
How would you express yourself in this activity?

Sample activities

Students will make a speech in front of their classmates.
Students will take part in reading simple monologue.
Individually they will perform with great effort.
Student review their script and storylines.
Students will understand the symbol e.g. comma, full stop and exclamation point.


Strand: Reflection

Students will

Reflect on dramatic work through self or peer assessment
Understand and maintain appropriate behaviours in drama

Sample questions

What does the performance means?
How to be a good performer?
What should the audience do during performance?
Why we have to work cooperatively with others?

Sample activities

Students act something in front of class. The others respect to what was the performer did. Then they discuss experience of performing in each group.

Sample assessment

Cooperation, appreciation and attention to be a good audience and performer.
